Privacy awards

The Queensland Government is encouraging nominations for the Australian Privacy Awards and Australian Privacy Medal.

The Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner (FPC) conducts these awards to recognise eligible individuals, government agencies, businesses and not-for-profit organisations that have excelled in the privacy field.

These awards provide the opportunity to acknowledge those who have shown leadership and professionalism when applying privacy regulations, standards and best practice.

Awards will be presented in four categories (the Symantec Government Award, Small-Medium Business Award, Large Business Award, and the Community and NGO Award), with a Grand Award presented to the overall winner. Your organisation or agency doesn't need to be subject to the federal Privacy Act to enter.

Nominations close on 6 May 2009 with a presentation to take place on 12 November 2009.
